''For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to p-prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.'' perfectly demonstrated
*Truth Hurts Because It Confronts Illusions*
We often build our lives, habits, or identities around things that seem right but aren’t rooted in truth.
When truth finally confronts those illusions, it can feel like -
being betrayed by what you thought was real,
or being stripped of the false comfort you’ve built around a lie.
“There is a way that seems right to a man,
but its end is the way of death.”
Proverbs 14:12
The truth doesn’t flatter - it pierces.
It doesn’t play nice with pretense - it calls it out.
That’s why many resist truth - not because it’s unclear,
but because it’s too clear.
*The Truth Confronts Before It Heals*
Think of a surgeon’s scalpel: it cuts, but only to remove what’s killing you.
In the same way, when God’s truth cuts deep, it’s not to destroy - it’s to deliver.
“For the word of God is living and powerful,
and sharper than any two-edged sword,
piercing even to the division of soul and spirit…”
Hebrews 4:12
When the Word confronts your pride, sin, or self-deception, it hurts
but it’s a holy hurt.
That cut marks the beginning of spiritual surgery - repentance, freedom, and growth.
No wound ever heals without first being opened.
