Romance is not the story of a certain poor Tolu, a victim of low self-esteem chasing Esther, who does not even care about his existence and will not fight for his love. Romance is about fighting for the love of a person who is willing to do the same for you.

A man is only considered romantic in Nigeria if he gives and does all that the woman he loves wants and demands, but demands nothing in return. If he demands anything in return for all he gives, the least of which is s*x within the premises of a romantic relationship, he is a misogynist. That is exploitation, not romance, but a lot of men have been induced to live with it.

While I am not a big fan of Solomon Buchi, I think I would have said exactly what he said here.
Marriage is a beautiful union, if done with the right partner. Only girls who have ruined their chances of having a blissful marriage like Tacha try to undermine the importance of marriage and make those who sacrifice for each other in it look like idiots.
You cannot eat your cake and have it, and when others who did not eat their cakes are now having it, do not call them thieves.
Marital success is the hardest form of success to achieve; no one has it without paying the price demanded. If you, like treacherous Tacha, refuse to pay the price demanded, do well not to deride those who did and are enjoying it.
They are not the cause of your predicaments.

If saved wisely, it is enough to afford the opportunity to travel back to their hometowns occasionally to show off how big they have become in Lagos, but the punishments are fatal.
Even if they spend 100 years in Lagos, they are most likely to return to their hometowns empty-handed when they become old or die broke in Lagos to avoid the shame of returning to their hometowns poor.
They eventually become his slaves; they do everything he requires of them, and he rewards them with a façade of financial stability—a few bucks that are big enough to only keep them with him. This is why people say “Lagos money lives in Lagos”.
