Conflict Resolution Works - CRW

Life is too short/precious to waste on things that don't bring us joy.

Life is best lived rejoicing.

When you are downcast, look at yourself in the mirror and shout "Rejoice"!!!

Keep saying it until you feel bubbles of joy within you.

I will have no regard whatsoever for any person who professes to care about me, but refuses to acknowledge or show respect for the things I value, and the things that are important to me; because I know that such a person is innately selfish and only cares about how I can satisfy their own selfish purposes and needs; such a person lacks empathy ."

This came up during a Conflict Coaching session with a client having some trouble in their relationship. (I tried to remain objective and provided this friend with the tools (not solution) on how to manage the conflict)

The truth is I actually know a few people who fit the above profile, and have encountered other's while doing business with them. ( Some people are innately selfish and unaware that they are. You'd have a tough time dealing with them if they happen to be your spouse, or boss, or girlfriend or boyfriend)

How would you handle such people and still retain the relationship?. Please let me know your thoughts at the comments section.
