TRACKING CLIENT'S ORDERS

If you're in the service delivery sector as I am, you'd find that service delivered in good condition and on time is a luxury not many can provide. This could be due to so many reasons, one of which is taking on so much jobs and not enough delivery time.

As a bespoke tailor, here are some of the systems I've used to be able to deliver

1. Calendars and work flow schedule
I have a calendar where I mark service delivery dates as agreed by clients and I. Once I see that there a too many clothes to deliver within the period, I either stop collecting clients order or take on only orders that are easy and not time consuming.

2. Diary
This tool is more like a planner, where deliveries are broken into daily activities.

3. Job assessment
I assess the kinds of jobs coming in, my speed and available workmanship. I also check if parts or the job can be outsourced. If I'm comfortable with the assessment, then I'll take on the job but if not, I'll decline.

In all these, the goal is to give a client a date that's comfortable for both of us and making sure I deliver.
