Here are 10 infections that can severely damage the uterus (“womb”) and other reproductive organs if not treated early. Many of these can lead to Pelvic inflammatory disease, infer.tility, chronic pelvic pain, or pregnancy complications.
1) Chlamydia
Often silent (no symptoms)
Spreads to uterus and tubes → scarring, blockage, infert.ility
2) Gonorrhea
Causes heavy discharge and pelvic pain
Rapidly progresses to PID and tubal damage
3) Trichomoniasis
Frothy, foul-smelling discharge
Chronic infection can inflame the uterus and cer.vix

Recurrent sores and inflammation
Can allow other bacteria to ascend into the uterus
5) Syphilis
Painless sores at first
Later stages affect multiple organs and pregnancy outcomes
6) Bacterial vaginosis
Fishy-smelling discharge
Increases risk of PID by allowing bacteria upward
7) Mycoplasma ge.nitalium
Less known but strongly linked to PID
Causes endometrial and tubal inflammation
8) Tuberculosis

Severe infection after unsafe or incomplete abor.tion
Can permanently scar the uterus
