The New Anthem, "Nigeria We Hail Thee" composed in Epie language by Hon. (Chief) Ayibanegiyefa Egba.

Hon. Egba is a Linguist and also a member of the Bayelsa State House of Assembly. She has been a staunch advocate of the development of Epie language.

Epie is one of the languages spoken in Bayelsa alongside Ijaw and others.

For years, I have been on this advocacy:
1. That Nigerian Pidgin should be recognized as an official language in Nigeria
2. It should be taught in Nigerian Schools

It's a good thing that a scholar from outside the shore of this country has added her voice to it. Maybe, now, it will become a discussion.

Nigerian Pidgin not Not Nigerian Pidgin English is a language and the most populous lingual Franca in Nigeria that has gotten international dialects also.
