US Lobbying Firm Hired by Atiku to Report Adeyemi's Arrest to Trump Administration.
A United States lobbying firm reportedly engaged by former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has said it will brief the Trump administration on the arrest of Adeniyi Adeyemi, who has been widely described by authorities as the "fake" Director-General of the purported PFIPC.
The development follows Adeyemi's arrest after a court reportedly issued a warrant over his failure to appear for arraignment. His detention has generated political reactions, with the US-based lobbying firm describing the incident as one it intends to bring to the attention of officials in Washington.
The Nigerian authorities maintain that the case is a legal matter, while the announcement by the lobbying firm has added an international dimension to the controversy.
The matter is expected to continue in court as investigations and legal proceedings progress.
