BE ANXIOUS FOR NOTHING
Life is full of pressures on its own with the desire to have and acquire things which we all have rights to. However, we mustn’t become so encumbered about those things that the care of those things overcome and overwhelm our thoughts leading to apprehension, tension, and agitations in anxiety which may in turn hinder us from walking in God’s will and plan for our lives.
Matthew 6:24 No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.
Vs 25 Therefore, I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment?
The phrase “Take no thought for your life” actually means to not be anxious about your life.
The phrase “hate the one and love the other” refers to preference. Jesus taught against uncontrolled desires for money. In the text above, he warned that this unbridled desire for money leads to worries. You cannot serve God and Money!
Paul reiterates this in epistles;
1st Timothy 6:7 For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out.
Vs 8 And having food and raiment let us be therewith content.
Vs 9 But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition.
Vs 10 For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.
Vs 11 But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness.
So when we are worried, sometimes it’s because of the love for things, money, fame, relationships etc. The system of this world thrives in the uncontrolled passion for things which will eventually lead us out of God’s will for o
*WALKING IN THE GLORY*
The Glory of God is the Spirit of God in the believer and despite the infirmity of their mortal bodies, they still walk in the Glory. The believer has to walk about a full cycle to conduct his/her self. That walk in God's Glory refers to him conducting himself in the benefits of Christ's resurrection. That is IN THE SPIRIT. In the Spirit was used two ways in the epistles depending on the context of usage: For Nature and Activity.
For nature:
_Romans 8:9 (KJV)_
*But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.*
_Galatians 5:25 (KJV)_
*If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.*
What it means is that, the believer lives or exist in the Spirit referring to nature, that's when a man is born again, his nature is now the Spirit.
For Activity:
_Galatians 5:16 (KJV)_
*This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.*
_1Corinthians 14:2 (KJV)_
*For he that speaketh in an unknown tongue speaketh not unto men, but unto God: for no man understandeth him; howbeit in the spirit he speaketh mysteries.*
We are born of the Spirit of God, so we walk, live and exist in the Spirit, therefore we do the things of the Spirit. The Spirit is our life and our nature, our very life. The work of the Spirit through the believer is via preaching and teaching. So, we walk in and express the Glory of God through preaching and teaching or making disciples. That’s the primary activity in the Glory of God. We manifest the Glory of God by preaching the gospel of Christ to the unsaved, winning and discipling (teaching) them.
_Matthew 28:18-20 (KJV)_
*And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe a
*SOAKING” AND “PLEADING” THE BLOOD*
*MATTHEW 26:28*
*For this is my blood of the New Testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins. (KJV)*
Prayer is very important as a believer. However, prayers without the knowledge of God’s word will cause you to pray the wrong prayers or empty prayers. Therefore, we must teach God’s word as much as we emphasize prayer. One of the wrong prayers many ignorant believers pray is on the blood of Jesus. Many people take the blood of Jesus as a universal liquid that can be used to do everything including spraying on witches. At prayer meetings, people are asked to plead the blood of Jesus over themselves, their spouses, their homes and just anything that is dear to them. They believe by doing so, they become protected from all sorts of attacks. The blood has already been shed, applied, or used by our high priest Jesus Christ once and for all. Therefore, we have no duty or responsibility to redo what has been done by Jesus. It is wrong to imagine the blood is some liquid available yet to be used. The blood is symbolic of the life of Jesus. To be in Christ is to be in the blood. Blood is a person not liquid.
One of the common prayers people pray is to soak or protect themselves in the blood of Jesus. They often refer to the application of the blood of a lamb at the door post of the Israelites in Egypt for protection from death or the Passover. Jesus is our Passover lamb sacrificed for us to be freed from the judgment of sin which is death. 1 Corinthians 5:7, “Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Christ our Passover is sacrificed for us”. It is because of the blood of Jesus we are set free from death and judgment of sin. The blood of Jesus was shed solely for the remission of our sins not for people to soak themselves in for protection daily. Jesus said at the last Passover with his disciples that the wine represents his blood that was shed for the forgivenes
