Why Are the 10 Days of Dhul Hijjah the Best Days of the Year?

1. Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) swore by these days in the Qur’an, and Allah only swears by what is great and honored.

2. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said that righteous deeds done in these days are more beloved to Allah than in any other days of the year.

3. The Day of Arafah is within these days, and fasting it wipes away the sins of two years.

4. All the greatest acts of worship come together in these days: prayer, fasting, charity, dhikr (remembrance of Allah), takbir (saying “Allahu Akbar”), Qur’an recitation, and Hajj.

5. These days contain Eid al-Adha and the sacred days of sacrifice and worship.

Many people pray hard in Ramadan, give sodaqah and all acts of kindness but neglect these ten days completely. Do not let them pass without increasing in worship and remembrance of Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He).

Pray more.
Fast if you can.
Read Qur’an daily.
Increase dhikr, takbir, tahmid (saying “Alhamdulillah”), and istighfar (seeking forgiveness).
Give charity.
Make sincere du‘a.
Stay away from sins.

These blessed days are a precious opportunity to draw closer to Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He).

May Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) accept our worship, forgive our sins, and allow us to benefit fully from these blessed days.
