From Benue to Cambridge!
The name "BENUE" has once again, echoed and this time, through the halls of the prestigious University of Cambridge.
Angela Dooshima Sughnen is the Benue daughter who made that possible. From her humble beginning at Queen of the Rosary, Gboko to Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University, Bauchi where she graduated with a First Class in Agriculture (Crop production), Angela has now broken barriers through her Mastercard Foundation Scholarship at University of Cambridge where she graduated with a distinction in her MPhil in Biological sciences.
While at Cambridge, she wrote a research focused on soybean genetic improvement using advanced techniques such as Virus-Induced Gene Editing (VIGE). This research has become a benchmark for strengthening crop resilience and tackling food security challenge across Africa.
We are indeed Proud of you. Congratulations!
