CAF has officially unveiled a major overhaul of its national team competitions!

The African Nations Championship (CHAN) is being replaced by a brand new competition structure called the African Nations League (a replica of the European Nations League).

This means:

1. African Nations League – Continental
- To be played every year
- Starts with regional zone qualifiers
- Top teams advance to a final tournament hosted in one country
- All players eligible, including Europe-based stars

2. African Nations League – Pan-African
- Held every 2 years
- Features 24 teams in a format similar to the Africa Cup of Nations

3. AFCON (Africa Cup of Nations)
- Now shifted to every 4 years
- Remains Africa’s premier flagship competition

Super Eagles training in Antalya, Turkey ahead of two international friendly matches against Iran and Jordan.

The clash with Iran’s Team Melli starts at 4pm Turkey time (2pm Nigeria time) on Friday, while the encounter with the Jordan senior men’s team will kick off at 8pm Turkey time (6pm Nigeria time) on Tuesday, 31st March.
