Yesterday, CARE Initiative participated in the Borno State Youth, Peace and Security (YPS) Validation Workshop alongside government stakeholders, development partners, civil society actors, security agencies, and young people to review and strengthen the Borno State YPS Action Plan.
The workshop provided a valuable platform for dialogue and collaboration toward advancing youth inclusion in peace and security efforts across Borno State. We were also inspired by the strong commitments shared through the goodwill messages delivered during the session.
At CARE Initiative, we remain committed to promoting social cohesion, youth engagement, and community-driven peacebuilding initiatives that strengthen peaceful coexistence and inclusive participation.
Malnutrition is both a health and protection issue.
Integrated response is urgently neededโ

CARE Initiative staff, led by our Head of Programs, paid a courtesy visit to the Commissioner of Police, Naziru Abdulmajid psc at the Borno State Police Headquarters to formally introduce the organization and explore strategic areas of collaboration with the Nigeria Police Force.
The engagement highlighted key partnership opportunities around community peacebuilding and social cohesion.
It also provided an opportunity to discuss shared priorities within the context of Borno State, where communities continue to navigate recovery from years of conflict and displacement. Conversations focused on strengthening protection efforts, promoting peaceful coexistence, and enhancing collaboration between communities and security actors to build trust, improve safety, and support long-term stability.
CARE Initiative sincerely appreciates the Commissioner of Police and her team for the warm reception and openness to partnership.
This visit marks an important step toward fostering safer, more cohesive communities through strengthened civilian-security collaboration.
