‎Human rights activist and former presidential candidate Omoyele Sowore has said he was granted fresh bail in the criminal case against him, with conditions that include a traditional ruler as a surety, a person who owns property in Abuja, a ₦200 million bond, and the surrender of his international passport.

‎SYMFONI TV, speaking to supporters after the court’s decision, Sowore said he would not leave immediately because he wanted to address Nigerians. He insisted that no amount of pressure or force could stop the movement he represents.

‎According to him, the authorities had ignored earlier warnings but were now beginning to act with what he described as common sense, leading to the court granting him fresh bail.

‎Sowore also claimed that the authorities had always been interested in taking his international passport as part of the legal process. Despite the bail conditions, he maintained that the case was bigger than his personal situation.

‎He told supporters that the struggle was not about his own freedom but about the freedom of Nigerians, urging them to remain committed to the cause.

‎Shortly after addressing the crowd, Sowore was whisked away by security operatives as a chaotic scene unfolded around the court premises. The incident drew the attention of supporters and onlookers gathered at the venue.
