I never believed the warnings until I lived them. Three years ago, I was in a relationship where I was always there - emotionally and otherwise. I'd visit him every few days, cooking, cleaning, and doing his laundry. We'd been together for over a year with hardly any issues, but I never saw it coming. One morning, I woke up, went online, and saw his engagement photos with someone else. No discussion, no mention of marriage - just a sudden reality check.
His excuse? Family obligations. I was hurt, but I moved on. Yet, a question lingered: where was the woman he chose to marry when I was doing it all? Since then, I've struggled to do the same for anyone else. Now, when I visit someone I'm dating, I pretend not to notice the mess, ignoring it until I leave. It's not about the dirty laundry or messy room; it's about self-respect. I won't do unpaid labor for someone who hasn't committed.
😋😋😋

Dear woman,
Learn contentment. Learn gratitude. Be satiable. Learn to be OK in the “now”, while striving for more. Learn self-respect. Find dignity wherever it is, and use it sew agbada. Have a healthy dose of pride and self-esteem.
Some of the embarrassing and degrading situations you find yourself in, are because you either lack contentment or because you have zero self-esteem and dignity.
These virtues should be normal for ladies. Find them and live with them.
You are worth too much for the rubbish you indulge in for trivial gains. Please!
