Denmark’s team doctor has confirmed that Christian Eriksen was briefly unconscious after collapsing earlier this evening.

Eriksen collapsed against Finland in Euro 2020, with it later being revealed that he had suffered a cardiac arrest.

A pacemaker was fitted to allow him to carry on playing football.

The game between Denmark and Ukraine has been called off and Eriksen was conscious as he got into the ambulance.

In a statement, Morten Boesen said: “Christian is doing well and walkedoff the field himself.

“As I see it, the pacemaker is beating as it should.

“He was briefly gone, but very quickly regained consciousness, and we were quickly in contact with him.

Now, he will be examined further in the hospital to find out what caused the incident.

“We are in constant contact with him and the doctors at the hospital. But Christian is doing well, and he asked me to greet all the players and say that he was okay.”

Wesley will not play for Brazil at the World Cup.

As we reported earlier today, the Roma defender went off injured in their 2-1 friendly win against Egypt.

The right-back was left in tears, and will not represent his country this summer.

According to Brazilian outlet ge.globo, Carlo Ancelotti has called up Ederson to replace him.

The Atalanta midfielder has made three appearances for Brazil, and is set to complete a £39million move to Manchester United.

Reports in the Netherlands suggest that Robin van Persie has been sacked as Feyenoord manager.

The former Arsenal and Manchester United striker was appointed in February 2025 after starting off with Heerenveen.

In the Eredivisie this season, they finished second, but they were 19 points away from PSV Eindhoven.

Still, that secured Champions League football, but the report suggests that general manager Robert Eenhoorn and technical director Devy Rigaux felt they needed to act.

Van Persie’s time with his boyhood club was somewhat controversial.

He gave his son, Shaqueel, his professional debut, handed a contract to Raheem Sterling and clashed with Quentin Timber.

The six-player shortlist for the PFA Young Player of the Year award has been announced, with Arsenal’s Max Dowman nominated.

After becoming the youngest-ever Premier League winner, the 16-year-old is now also the youngest player up for the individual award since its introduction in the 1973/74 season.

Also nominated are Manchester City duo Nico O’Reilly and Rayan Cherki, with the latter also nominated for the main prize.

Joining them on the list is 17-year-old Liverpool starlet Rio Ngumoha, as well as Bournemouth forward Junior Kroupi.

Manchester United’s Kobbie Mainoo is also up for the prestigious award, after enjoying a resurgent second half of the season under Michael Carrick.

Man City star Cherki could join an elite club if he triumphs in both the young player and main category, with only three players previously achieving this feat.

Andy Gray scooped both awards in the 1976/77 season, and so did Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale in 2007 and 2013.

This year’s winners will be announced on Tuesday, August 25 at the 53rd annual PFA Awards Ceremony in Manchester

England will reportedly face US fourth-tier side Miami United as part of their World Cup preparations.

The Three Lions kick off their campaign against Croatia on June 17, and have two warm-up games over the next week.

Thomas Tuchel’s side take on New Zealand on Saturday, before facing Costa Rica on Wednesday.

But England are now set to get some extra preparation in between the two games, with the Telegraph reporting they will take on amateur side Miami United in a behind-closed-doors friendly.

They will play a standard 90-minute match, which will allow them to practise set-pieces and other tactics.

Miami United play in the United Premier Soccer League, the fourth tier of US football.

England are currently training in Florida, and will move on to their base in Kansas City ahead of their group games.
