"I bought my first brand-new car in 1981 for ₦2,700 and later bought a brand-new 505 SR for ₦7,200. I used to trade in Nigeria and travel to London every weekend. I used to enter Nigeria airways flight from Lagos to New York then was about 155 for a ticket.

I am appealing to them, for the sake of their own grandchildren, let’s build a society. Some of them might think they have made enough money. I want to give young Nigerians the opportunity God gave me back then. People of my age today are st£∆l¡ng what they don’t need how long will they live? – Peter Obi answered a question posed to him by Rufai Oseni, who asked, "Do you have a message for those who, no matter what you say, will never say, 'Let me give this man a chance'?"

Peter Obi then appealed to Nigerians who remain unconvinced by his political message, urging them to consider the future of younger generations.

Breaking News: Confusion as IPOB Leadership Rejects Nnamdi Kanu's Sole Authority, Says Movement Does Not Belong to Him, Announces Indefinite Suspension of His Office (Office of Leader and Director of Radio Biafra)

A major controversy has erupted within the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) following the release of a statement by the Directorate of State (DOS) announcing the indefinite suspension of the Office of the Leader of IPOB and the position of Director of Radio Biafra.

The statement, dated June 18, 2026, argued that IPOB is a self-determination movement founded and nurtured by a collective of Biafrans in the diaspora and not by any single individual. It further maintained that no individual, regardless of rank or position, possesses the authority to dissolve the Directorate of State, which it described as the apex leadership institution overseeing the affairs of the movement.

The development is already generating widespread reactions among IPOB supporters, with many interpreting the decision as a direct challenge to the authority of detained IPOB leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu. Critics argue that since the Office of the Leader and the position of Director of Radio Biafra have historically been occupied by Kanu, the indefinite suspension of those offices effectively amounts to suspending his leadership role within the movement.

In the statement, the DOS cited security concerns, alleging that communications linked to Kanu's detention had exposed members of the movement to risks. The leadership also claimed there were ongoing efforts by certain individuals to create divisions within IPOB and undermine its organizational structure.

The announcement comes amid reports of disagreements over the future direction of the movement and follows recent debates surrounding decisions allegedly linked to Kanu from detention.

As reactions continue to pour in, observers say the development could mark one of the most significant internal leadership disputes in IPOB's history, raising fresh questions about authority, leadership, and the future of the organization.

At the time of filing this report, supporters on both sides of the divide were actively debating the implications of the decision, with many awaiting further clarification from IPOB officials and Mazi Nnamdi Kanu's camp.

You see, people need to say what they know and not lie. Before Peter Obi took over from Chris Ngige, Anambra was a den of kidnappers. Within 6-12 months, police declared it the most peaceful state in Nigeria under Mr. Peter Obi. I worked with him”
