WHICH BUSINESS YOU DEY DO, ZACK DEKERA?

A few weeks ago, I was consulting with a client who wanted to start a business in Nigeria.

During the Q&A session, he asked,

"Boss, with all due respect, you seem to be involved in so many things. Which business exactly do you focus on? Isn’t it better to pick one thing and stick to it?"

I smiled and replied,

"I get that a lot. But let me share my perspective."

You see, every business has its season. Some months, my security installation services like car trackers and glass fortifications are booming. Other months, short-let apartments bring in the bulk of revenue. And there are times when events, travel services, or training programs take center stage.

Now imagine I focused all my energy on just one business. What happens during its *off-season*? What happens if the market changes and that business isn’t profitable anymore?

This is why I believe *diversification is the key*, especially in Nigeria where the economy is unpredictable.

The truth is, I don’t run multiple businesses just for the sake of it. Each one complements the other. My business registration services attract clients for my social media management.

And no, I don’t do it all alone. I have teams and systems in place. Each business has its structure.

*Diversify your income. Try new ideas. Take calculated risks.* Some ventures may fail, but others will flourish. The goal is to create multiple safety nets for yourself and your family.
