I try to make sense of why talented artists often find themselves trapped in the struggle of building a name through record labels that recognize their potential but offer contracts the artists don’t fully understand. Labels like Eric Many, Tinny, and G-Worldwide have affected artists like Runtown, Ycee, Sugarboy, and Kizz Daniel (formerly Kiss Daniel). Why are some record labels so greedy? The things I've seen and heard about certain label owners are unbelievable. The Nigerian music industry is dirty and toxic, with Kiss Daniel reportedly earning just N30k and Sugarboy N20k monthly from G-Worldwide back in the days.
