Following weeks of protests by lawyers in Nsukka and Obollo-Afor over delays in the resumption of physical court sittings, legal practitioners have sealed the Enugu State High Court in Obollo-Afor.

The action comes amid the continued absence of a judge and the lack of physical court proceedings. As a result, all judicial activities at the court have been suspended until further notice.

Anambra State Governor, Prof. Charles Soludo, yesterday paid an unofficial visit to Enugu State, where he met with Governor Peter Mbah.

The governors had a brief discussion before Governor Soludo returned to Anambra State.

Security operations in Enugu State have reportedly led to the discovery of criminal hideouts in forest locations, with suspects and weapons recovered during coordinated raids.

A viral video surfaces online on Thursday, June 11, 2026, showing a confrontation involving a female student, hostel staff, security personnel and a Reverend Sister at Coal City University, Enugu State, has sparked outrage on social media.

According to reports, the incident began after the student was questioned by an Associate Dean over her alleged absence from classes.

The situation reportedly escalated into a physical altercation involving the student, a hostel sister and female security officers.

Witnesses alleged that the student was assaulted by school officials, while the student was also accused of slapping a hostel sister and a cleaner during the clash.

Reports further claimed that the student’s room was searched for hard drugs, but none was allegedly found.

The student was also said to have requested privacy to change clothes before following officials, but the request was allegedly denied.
