Saturday May 23 - Make me forget my past Sufferings

Joseph named his firstborn Manasseh and said, “It is because God has made me forget all my trouble and all my father’s household” (Gen.41.51)

The life of Joseph was full of challenges but it was also full of joyful testimonies. He gave the testimony of how the Lord made him to forget his past troubles of what his father's household did to him. His own blood brothers hated him so much that they sold him out to an unknown land. After he found favor in the palace of Pharaoh, he was loved, cared for, repositioned and established as a family man. He gave birth to his first son Manasseh as a praise to God for making the past sufferings forgotten. What are you going through as suffering, trouble and pain? Keep faith. It will become forgotten and be replaced with joyful testimonies.

Thought for Today: After tests come testimonies.

O Lord, make all you have made very good for me. Bring an end to my troubles. Favorably reposition me. Make me forget my past sufferings in the name of Jesus Christ, amen.

Tuesday May 19 – Make me testify about Your Abundance

But Esau said, "I already have plenty, my brother. Keep what you have for yourself" (Gen.33.9)

The meeting of Jacob and Esau after a long year of hostility would have been disastrous if not for the earlier divine meeting with both of them. The Lord blessed them with abundance before they met one another. They both inherited the material covenantal blessings of Abraham. Their occupancies were blessed. Esau testified about the blessed pronouncement of Isaac upon him after he grew strong that he would be freed from his brother’s yoke. No cause for war when we all have satisfactorily. Whose yoke are you carrying? The Lord will make you stronger. You will testify about His abundant provision.

Thought for Today: No reason to fight when we all enjoy more than enough.

O Lord, make all you have made very good for me. Bless me beyond coveting the possessions of others. Make me stronger than my yoke. Make me testify about Your abundance in the name of Jesus Christ, amen.

Monday May 18 - Make me testify that You see my Hardship

If the God of my father, the God of Abraham and the Fear of Isaac, had not been with me, you would surely have sent me away empty-handed. But God has seen my hardship and the toil of my hands, and last night he rebuked you (Gen.31.42)

Jacob narrated how bad his experience was in the house of Laban. He labored for fourteen years to get married. He worked for another six years to become independent in business. He suffered betrayal for about ten times. All his toiling were nothing worth rewardable to Laban. He took step to run away with his family but was not left alone by Laban. He pursued him with death wishes but the Lord interjected and rebuked him. The Lord saw the toils of Jacob and vindicated him. Are you going through hardship, pain and toiling like Jacob? The Lord will make you testify.

Thought for Today: When the Lord protects, the pursuit of the oppressors is in vain.

O Lord, make all you have made very good for me. Let the pursuit of my enemies against me be in vain. See my pains. Make me testify that You see my hardship in the name of Jesus Christ, amen.
