Dear Artist, if you have been following us you will agree that we started a campaign to sensitized Nigerian Artists over the issue of recording label operating like a recording company which to us is fraud in disguise. We went further to elaborate on the subject so as for you to have a better understanding of the side effect such fraudulent operation has caused you. Getting sign under a recording label usually means you have done the major legwork. Therefore, a recording label is expected to open doors for you as an independent & unsigned artists to submit your demos for auditioning. Paraventure, if what they hear meets their standard, they will get you signed & invests in your music by giving you loan(advances) while they expect you to pay them back a set amount from your record sales earnings.

Dear Artist, unlike recording company if they want to sign an artist they organize a talent hunt to discovered fresher artists & invest on the artist to buy a brand new car, rent a furnished apartment, wardrope allowance, & upfront payment worth millions. After making this expenses, a recording company recoup their moneys from record sales, touring, merchandise, endorsement & shows. Cleverly, because of piracy & copyright issues bedeviling the music industry, recording labels in a fraudulent act reversed their operations & function like a recording company by signing fresher artists that's already made or they sign independent & unsigned artist under a slavery contract called 360 deals that gives them the right to make money off of every aspect of your music career from record sales, touring, merchandise, shows & endorsement etc. To us this is a fraud in disguise because as far as we are concern, recording label don't have business sharing percentage with artist when it comes to the above mentioned but on record sales, touring & merchandize only.

Dear Artist, to be honest with you, if something is not done to savage the situation by putting a stop to recording labels functioning under the disguise like a recording companies, trust me, unsigned & independent artists who spent their hard earn money to record their single, EP or album will remain underground because such system put in place will not give you the chance for your voice to be heard. On this note, the good news is that our plan to re-direct the operational functions of recording labels by creating a music talent discovery akedemy where unsigned & independent artists not only submit their demos but as well perform live on stage & get discovered for a promotion & marketing distribution deals gave birth to the idea Next RATED STARZ.

Dear Artist, our earlier inception into the music industry gave us the vantage opportunity to closely study the various issues militating against the music industry. We discovered with the advent of the internet the major issues confronting the music industry which are piracy infringement & copyright has reduced to the bearest minimum. Which to us is something to celebrate. But to our utmost amazement, we discovered another bigger issue that has to do with recording labels operating like a recording company.

Dear Artist, frankly speaking, this system of operations by recording labels is confusing & mis-leading. Factually, the original function of a recording label in the music industry is to discovered artist via submission of their singles, ep & album. Thereafter they offer the artist a promotional, marketing & distribution deal with financial packages that assist the artist in recording & image branding

Dear Artist, when a recording company invest on fresher artist, they recoup their moneys from record sales, touring, merchandise, endorsement & shows. But when a recording label invest on unsigned & independent artist they recoup their money from the exploitation of record sales. Next Rated Star was born out of the need to set the record straight. The real function of a record label in the music industry is to open doors for unsigned & independent artists to submit their ep or album projects while at the same time assist the artist financially to promote, market & distribute their ep & album projects nationwide. If you observed carefully the operations & functions of the record labels in the music industry in nigeria is like that of a recording company who discovered fresher artists & offer the artist packages such as apartment, car & upfront royalty. Now what did you notice is the different between this two companies? Firstly, recording company was established to discovered fresher artist via talent hunt while recording label is set up to open doors for unsigned & independent artist. You will agree with me that if this is the way all record labels are functioning in the music industry, an independent artist like you will not record an album or ep and still not get signed by a record label. The simple truth is that they don't open door for unsigned artist to submit their ep or album rather they prefer to discovered artist via the internet or through relatives & friends. As you can see, if something is not done to savage the situation & re-direct the operations of record labels in nigeria, the issue of God fatherism over artists will persist hence the establishment of Nass Rekordz.

Further more, couple of months from now, Naas Rekordz will open doors for unsigned & independent artist to send their ep or album while our inhouse judges listen & select the best top new singles, ep & album. After the selections, those artists with single will perform live on stage in front of live judges who will screen the various artists stage performance & confirmed the next artist to blow numbering about 10artists whose songs will now be compiled into a 10tracks album, uploaded online & the individual artist will get paid royalty if their songs are streamed or downloaded online. While those with full ep & album will be celebrated as we are going to officially release & launch their album or ep online/offline
