HOW THEY CAN PROGRESS
It's no longer news that all three Nigerian teams on the continent won their home matches against all North African oppositions.
But they will all need good results away from home in the return legs. Knowing these North African teams and their antics, they must be ready.
1. Mentally - they must win or loose the matches from their heads before on the pitch. There will be crazy antics, laser lights from fans, intimidation even from the airport, policemen etc
2. Physically - the North Africans thrive in fast and pacy football games, we should understand how to kill the tempo, waste time, players can make them commit fouls, roll on the pitch, medics have to come in for checks etc.
3. Tactically - we shouldn't sit too deep while defending, only compact the midfield, always overload the wings and our own half of the pitch. Don't conceed in the first 20 minutes. Full concerntration all through the game especially from the defense line and goal keepers.
4. Financially - we should make sure all players and team official allowances and bonuses are paid before the match to avoid team mutiny and implosion from the players or officials.
With a tough mental texture, at least two of our teams should advance to the group stage!!!
