Garlic green beans

Recipe -

250g green beans
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
1 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
3 garlic cloves
1/2 baking soda

Instructions
Blanch beans: Bring a large saucepan of water to the boil with 1 teaspoon of salt and 1/2 tsp baking soda. Add the beans, cook for 4 minutes, then drain and rinse under cold tap water to cool. (There's really no need to shock in ice water). Shake off excess water.

Note: the essence of the baking soda is to maintain the greenish color of the beans🤗 but you can do without it.

Sauté: Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add garlic and stir for a few seconds. Add green beans, stir, add salt and pepper, then toss to combine.

Serve: Transfer beans to the serving dish. Serve warm!
Prepare ahead: Blanch beans per step 1, cool and dry, store in fridge until required. When ready to serve, just toss with garlic. It's an instant on-demand side!
