On March 28th, 2023, "Make Yourself a Mathematician," textbook was launched.
The book, written by Dr. Fubara Dan Jumbo and co-authored by Dr. Adetola Salau, and Mr. Nathaniel Longjohn, aims to make mathematics more accessible and easier to learn for students.
Despite being an essential subject, many students struggle with mathematics. The book attempts to simplify mathematical concepts by relating them to real-life situations and making the learning process more engaging and interactive.
The book contains numerous examples, exercises, and practical applications that make learning mathematics more enjoyable and less intimidating. With "Make Yourself a Mathematician," students can develop their problem-solving skills, logical reasoning, and critical thinking abilities, essential skills for success in many areas of life.

Dr. Adetola Salau has been selected as one of the Top 100 Career Women for the third edition of the 9to5 Chick Top Career Women in Africa list for 2023.

W.A.S.H QUIZ COMPETITION
The Nigeria Institute of Mechanical Engineers, in partnership with Lagos Water Corporation, recently organized a Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) Essay/Quiz Competition for students in junior and secondary schools.
The three-section event aimed to encourage young students to be innovative and inventive while promoting the importance of WASH in their schools and communities.
In commemoration of the World Water Day, the grand finale was held on Tuesday, March 21st 2023, with Dr. Adetola Salau serving as the Guest of Honour. The competition provided a platform for young people to communicate about WASH and inspire others to practice the same in their daily lives.
Congratulations to all the awardees and participants for their outstanding performance.

THROWBACK THURSDAY
GIRLS-IN-STEM MENTORSHIP PROGRAM
The second edition of the Girls in STEM mentorship program was held on Monday, 20th February 2023, at Lagos City Senior College, Sabo, Yaba. The event was organized by STEAM UP LAGOS in partnership with Open Access Data Centres and Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) with the aim of promoting STEM education among girls and inspiring them to pursue careers in the field.
Under the auspices of the Senior Special Assistant (Education) to the Executive Governor of Lagos State, Dr. Adetola Salau, the program was a huge success with a large turnout of girls. The girls had the opportunity to interact with Ms. Olayinka Fashola; The Permanent Secretary, Lagos State Ministry of Wealth Creation and Employment as well as Mrs. Ruby Onwudiwe; Executive Director, Operations COURE software & Systems and learn from their experiences.
The event was an important step towards encouraging young girls to be a part of the STEM pipeline in Nigeria and beyond, and will undoubtedly contribute to the growth and development of the field in the years to come.

Since taking office, Governor Sanwoolu has demonstrated unwavering commitment to improving the education sector in Lagos state, particularly through edtech programs.
Under his leadership, several innovative programs have been implemented, these efforts have not only improved access to educational resources for our children, but have also positioned Lagos state as a leader in digital education in Nigeria.
With his experience, dedication, and vision, I believe he is the right person to lead Lagos state to even greater heights in the next four years.
