Measurement taking is a skill that requires practice.
Accurate measurements are the foundation of good cut and good fit, and it reduce fitting problems.

How to take measurements: All measurements should be taken close to the body and not tight

Measurement should not be taken over a lose garment.

Do not.all any ease while taking Measurement.

Record all measurement on the.measurement sheet.

Procedure in taking body measurements:

There are several parts of the body to be measured. These are

Horizontal measurement
Vertical measurement
Circumferential measurement

Horizontal measurement is taken from the left of the figure to the right, emxaple :
Front shoulder
Back shoulder
Bust span
Across chest
Across back

Vertical measurement is taken from the top of the body figure to its base, example
Full front lenght
Full back lenght
Center front length
Nape to waist

Circumferential.measurement is taken round the body, example
Bust
Waist
Hip
Armhole
Neck
