“The Night She Almost Sold Forever”✨
Amaka had always been the quiet one in her group of friends. Beautiful, intelligent, and with a smile that could soften even the hardest heart, she was often told, “You’re too good to be single. Why are you still keeping yourself?”
At 24, curiosity had begun to creep in. Social media painted a loud picture of romance and intimacy. Her friends shared stories of weekend getaways, candlelit dinners, and “unforgettable nights.” Some of them had even boasted about how much money they got after “giving in” to wealthy men.
One day, while struggling to pay her final year tuition, a classmate whispered, “You know, there are men who would pay millions for someone like you. Just once, and all your financial problems are gone.”
Amaka’s heart skipped. She thought of her mother, a widow, selling vegetables to support her. She thought of the shame of being sent out of school. And then she thought of her dreams—to be a lawyer, to marry a godly man, to stand pure at the altar.
But the pressure was real. Bills don’t wait. Temptation doesn’t knock softly.
That night, she sat in her room, torn between desperation and conviction. Tears flowed as she imagined the pride in her husband’s eyes someday when he would discover she had waited just for him. She remembered her pastor once saying, “The wedding night is not just about pleasure, it’s about covenant. It’s about unveiling without shame.”
Her phone buzzed—it was the “opportunity.” A wealthy man was waiting to “rescue her.” Her hands shook as she typed, “I’m sorry, I can’t.”
Years later, Amaka stood in her white gown. Her husband, a man who had also waited, held her hands and whispered, “Thank you for saving yourself for me. Tonight is not just love, it’s worship.”
She realized in that moment that she had not just kept her virginity—she had kept her dignity, her covenant, and her testimony.
Because while money can solve problems, it can never buy back purity once sold.
Always remember that-- “Marriage is honourable in all, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge.” — Hebrews 13:4
