FG Increases Nigerian Soldiers’ Monthly Salary From ₦49,000 to ₦100,000 - Defence Minister
Defence Minister Christopher Musa has announced that the Federal Government increased the monthly salary of Nigerian soldiers from ₦49,000 to ₦100,000 to improve the welfare of military personnel.
While describing the pay rise as a significant step, Musa admitted that Nigeria's current defence budget is still inadequate to effectively tackle the country's security challenges.
According to him:
“When they started, a soldier was collecting ₦49,000 monthly. We tried so hard, now he’s collecting ₦100,000.”
