Hair and Scalp Analysis:
The client exhibited:
* Diffuse thinning
* Visible scalp exposure
* Patches and loss across the crown and mid-scalp
* Signs of active inflammation
* Tenderness, pain and itching
All of the above are suggestive of early scarring consistent with Central Centrifugal Cicatricial Alopecia (CCCA) and can lead to a permanent follicular damage if not addressed early. The key word being 'early'

Why we took the decision to cut her hair?
* to allow full scalp access
* completely eliminate tension
* enable targeted treatment
* eliminate harmful styling practices.
Retaining length in this state would have continued to mask progression.

Early intervention to reduce inflammation and the progressive scarring is the difference between recovery and permanence. Glad the client came in early we caught this early enough.
