Please, ma don’t judge me. I’m writing this with tears in my eyes because I feel like my whole world is crashing.
Fourteen years ago, I walked into an orphanage and carried a tiny baby girl in my arms. I remember holding her and whispering, “You’re mine now… I will love you forever.”
I raised her like my own blood. I gave her my name, my heart, my everything. I fought anyone who ever tried to look down on her. I loved her like a true mother, without any reservations.
But today… I don’t even recognize the child I brought into my home.
From the age of 10, she started changing. Little lies… then disrespect… then suddenly she became completely uncontrollable.
Now she’s 14, and she has become a terror in my marriage.
She talks to my husband worse than a stranger would. She insults him, ignores him, calls him names. When we try to correct her, she threatens to run away or destroy things.
My husband is a peaceful man, but I can see the anger and frustration building. We’ve had sleepless nights, endless arguments, and tears… because of a child we both tried to raise with love.
My home is no longer peaceful. I live in fear of what she will do next. I can’t even leave my handbag around without checking it ten times. I’ve caught her stealing, lying, sneaking out, and even fighting in school.
I’ve tried prayers, therapy, discipline, love, punishment, counselling… everything.
Nothing is working.
And now… after 14 years of pouring my soul into this child… I am asking the most painful question of my life:
Is it possible to return a child to the orphanage? Can a mother give up the child she raised from infancy because she no longer knows what to do?
Typing this makes me feel like a monster.
I don’t want to give up but I am losing my marriage. I am losing my peace. I am losing myself.
I feel like I failed as a mother.
I feel guilty.
I feel ashamed.
I feel heartbroken.
Please anyone who has adopted before or raised a difficult child…
What do you suggest i do
Has anyone experienced something like this?
Should I fight harder or let go before I lose everything?
I need advice your advice ma I need strength.
I need someone to tell me I’m not a bad person for feeling this way.

Please ma , I really need to askam I wrong?
Because right now, I feel so disrespected and confused.
So here’s what happened…
My younger sister owns this expensive, extensive human hair. I went to her house, picked it up for a photoshoot, nothing crazy, just trying to look good and create content. I didn’t hide it, I didn’t damage it. I even planned to return it the same day.
But the moment she came back, she started shouting at me like I stole something precious from her ancestors. Insult upon insult. Before I could even explain, she went ahead and reported me to our other sisterpainting me like some irresponsible person with no value.
And the painful part? My family sided with her.
They started talking to me anyhow, reminding me that I’m ‘not married,’ I’m ‘not doing well financially,’ and that I should ‘respect myself.’
Since when did borrowing something turn into a full family meeting about my life choices?
Honestly, I’m tired.
Is it because I’m not married yet?
Is it because I’m not financially loud?
Or do they just enjoy looking down on me?
Please, talk to me ma
Was I wrong for taking the hair?
Did my sister overreact?
And how do you deal with a family that insults you over the slightest things?
I’m really waiting for your advice ma Thank you.

Some of una dey run leave loyal men because him no shine like packaging,
then later una go dey shout, ‘true love no dey.’
Ask yourself who you value last?
Na lies you dey chase or love you dey build?
Truth be say some of una no go EVER find true love.
No be because love no exist
na because when love show, you no fit respect am,
you no fit protect am, you no fit value am.
So I ask again if loyalty dey stand in front of you today,

Because when reality finally teach you lesson
