MUSLIM WORSHIPPERS WERE KILLED IN A MOSQUE IN GEIDAM, YOBE STATE.

Available and verifiable information reaching us confirmed that Muslim worshippers were attacked in a mosque in Geidam, Geidam Local Government, Yobe State. The attack was made while the worshippers are praying in a mosque of Fudiyyah Islamiyyah School, Geidam, Yobe State. The school belongs to the adherents of his Eminence, Sayyid Ibraheem Ya’qoub El-Zakzaky (H).

This attack has come at a time when the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, ordered operatives of the Nigeria Police to crackdown on and arrest the adherents of the Islamic Movement, under the leadership of his eminence Sayyid Ibraheem Ya’qoub El-Zakzaky. The order was given by Kayode Egbetokun on Monday, 26 August 2024.

Hours after his order on the same Monday, August 26, 2024, the police raided a Fudiyyah Islamiyyah School, Airport Road, Abuja. The school belongs to the adherents of his eminence, Sayyid Ibraheem Ya’qoub El-Zakzaky (H). During the attack on Monday, the police vandalised school facilities and arrested innocent people living around the school.

The following day, on Tuesday, August 27, 2024, the same police raided the University of Abuja Teaching Hospital, Gwagwalada, Abuja, in search of 2024 Abuja Arba’een mourners.

The attack in Geidam happened around 4 a.m. on the early hours of Friday, August 30, 2024, during midnight and morning prayers. An eyewitness confirmed to us that the attackers killed three worshippers at the mosque, which include Shaheed Ahmad Abdurrahman, Shaheed Muhammad Saleh, and Shaheed Abdullahi Unguwar Karau Kawo. Apart from those killed, numerous people sustained injuries.

Paramedics are still handling the situation, and more details will be made available to the public in due course.

We are still assessing the situation and also analysing these new calculated trends that the Nigeria Police are taking by disguising under attacking Arba'een mourners and abuse the sanctity of Muslims and Islam.

The public may wish to recall that recently, police forcefully removed the hijab of Muslim sisters arrested during 2024 Abuja Arbaeen. After blasphemy on hijab and Islam by the police in Abuja and now abuse to Muslim worshippers and mosques in Geidam, Yobe State.

We condemn this attack and killing of Muslim worshippers in mosque in Geidam, Geidam Local Government, Yobe State, and vow to take necessary action against the perpetuators of this devilish act.
