EHCON DECLARES PUBLIC HEALTH EMERGENCY OVER POLLUTION-RELATED DISEASES

The Environmental Health Council of Nigeria (EHCON) has declared a Public Health Emergency due to a surge in diseases caused by greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and engine pollution.

​The Threat: Dr. Yakubu Baba (Registrar of EHCON) warned that air pollution currently poses a more significant long-term health risk than the COVID-19 pandemic.
