PLATEAU C-JTF REAFFIRMS COMMITMENT TO SECURITY, APPEALS FOR GOVERNMENT, PUBLIC SUPPORT
The Plateau State branch of the Civilian Joint Task Force (C-JTF) has pledged to continue partnering with security agencies in the fight against insecurity across the state and beyond.
The assurance was given on Saturday, October 4, 2025, during a bio-data collection exercise for members from Jos North, Bassa, and Mangu Local Government Areas. The programme was organised to enhance coordination and improve the group’s operational structure.
Addressing participants, Plateau State Commander and National Coordinator of the C-JTF, Tanimu Shehu, said the organisation remains resolute in complementing the state government and security operatives in addressing persistent security challenges.
He noted that the C-JTF has recorded significant successes in community policing and intelligence gathering, but stressed that their effectiveness is hampered by lack of resources.
Shehu therefore appealed to the Plateau State Government, the Federal Government, and philanthropic individuals to support the organisation with operational vehicles, office space, and other logistics. According to him, the organisation’s current office lease has expired, and more than 4,000 members deployed across the state require better working conditions.
Commanders of Bassa and Mangu LGAs, Victor Morris Andai and Ismail Usman Muhammad, respectively, echoed similar concerns. They urged government and private citizens to assist the C-JTF with facilities that will help strengthen its grassroots operations.
Also speaking, Lukman Auwal Danladi, deputy general intelligent of the Intelligence Department (Team B), said the group has the manpower and willingness to curb insecurity but needs the necessary empowerment to function optimally.
Meanwhile, members of the Plateau C-JTF commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Plateau State Governor, Caleb Mutfwang, Acting National Chairman of C-JTF, Mr. Chukwuemeka Ezike, and National Commandant, Mr. Aminu Sani, for their continued encouragement and support.
They maintained that beyond commendations, more practical interventions are urgently required to consolidate peace and enhance the safety of communities across Plateau State.
