The leadership, stakeholders, elders, youth, women, and loyal members of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Barkin-Ladi State Constituency have unanimously affirmed Hon. Dominic Dakwak Bulus as the sole consensus candidate of the party for the Plateau State House of Assembly election scheduled for 2027.

This historic decision was reached after extensive consultations and careful consideration of the aspirations of the people, reflecting the overwhelming confidence reposed in Hon. Dominic Dakwak Bulus for his proven leadership, humility, accessibility, and unwavering commitment to the peace, unity, and development of Barkin-Ladi Constituency. His dedication to the welfare of the people and his passion for grassroots development continue to distinguish him as a true servant-leader.

On Tuesday, 28 April 2026, the PDP Secretariat in Barkin Ladi came alive with energy and enthusiasm as party leaders, elders, aspirants, and loyal supporters gathered in large numbers to warmly receive Honourable Dominic Dakwak Bulus. The atmosphere was vibrant and engaging, with a large gathering of party faithfuls and supporters—predominantly indigenes of Barkin Ladi—filling the hall. Many present reflected the resilience of a community that has, in recent years, endured persistent insecurity, including terrorist attacks, loss of lives, destruction of farmlands, and what they perceive as inadequate representation.



The visit of Honourable Dominic was widely seen as timely and significant. His decision to contest for the Plateau State House of Assembly seat to represent Barkin Ladi Constituency comes at a critical period when the people are seeking credible leadership, improved security, and tangible development. His entrance into the race has generated renewed hope among party faithful and constituents who are eager for responsive and people-oriented representation.



In his remarks, Honourable Dominic expressed deep appreciation for the warm reception and unwavering loyalty of PDP members, especially in the face of political and socio-economic challenges. He emphasized the importance of unity, collective responsibility, and grassroots mobilization as key drivers of electoral victory. Addressing the prevailing security situation, Honourable Dominic spoke passionately about the plight of Barkin Ladi, describing it as one of the areas hardest hit by violent attacks affecting both human lives and agricultural livelihoods. He extended heartfelt condolences to families who have lost loved ones and acknowledged the pain and disruption suffered by the community. He assured constituents that, if given the mandate, he would serve as a strong and proactive voice at the State Assembly—advocating for improved security architecture, enabling farmers to safely return to their lands, and facilitating policies and interventions that promote peace and stability.



Beyond security, he outlined his commitment to driving meaningful development across the constituency. This includes attracting government projects, improving infrastructure, empowering youths and women, and ensuring that the genuine needs and concerns of the people are effectively presented and addressed at the state level. He reiterated that leadership must be people-centered, accessible, and accountable.



Following the successful engagement at the PDP Secretariat—where he received the endorsement and blessings of party executives, women leaders, and respected elders—Honourable Dominic proceeded on a courtesy visit to the chairman, elders forum of the PDP, barkin ladi to formally notify him of his intention to contest. This gesture underscored his respect for tradition, community leadership, and the importance of inclusive consultation.

Since Caleb Mutfwang assumed office as the Executive Governor and Chief Security Officer of Plateau State on May 29, 2023, 1195 civilians were killed and 158 were abducted across 12 local government areas

It is regrettable that we are already in a mess to begin with.

The fact that the governor came to his own people in an armoured vehicle shows that he has lost a hang on the security apparatus in the state

Another sad issue is that the president of our country came to this state to commiserate with the grieving people only to stop at the airport mostly because he can't trust his own safety through Heipang.

Same president who has failed his people didn't come here for the sake of peace as he claimed, he came for campaign that he even mentioned the emblem on his cap as a pointer for peace.

We are under siege in our country by a political class that do not care about the future of our people and the country and it is bad.

May Nigeria succeed.

It is regrettable that at this present age and time the government of the day cannot prioritize the lives of it's people.

If only the people who openly threatened my peace loving people of Jos were arrested and tried, it will serve as a deterrent to others.

May the people who lost their lives rest in peace. It is painful and unacceptable.

We have to work as a people to tackle future occurrences.
