Since 2014, SpringAid International Development Nigeria has been silently transforming lives through its Housing in Social Emergency (HISE) initiative.

Through this, SpringAid is providing safe, dignified shelter for individuals and families at the edges of society. At Umuguma and Okuku in Owerri, this initiative is building hope, transforming lives and restoring dignity.

Through strong partnerships with SELAVIP, ETEX Group, and Nigerite, this effort goes beyond construction. It is about restoring stability, strengthening communities, and giving families a place they can truly call home.

Yes, more than shelter, we are building more than houses, and more than a roof over the head.

Together, we are demonstrating that sustainable housing is not just a need—it is a foundation for opportunity, health, and a better future.

These are homes that heal and create opportunities.
Some of the new units of housing in Okuku are ready for their recipients.

We wish to reiterate that the houses are given free of charge. There is no application fee or any other form of payments!
