Saraki Declares Engr. Bolakale Kawu as Kwara PDP Consensus Governorship Candidate

Former Senate President Abubakar Bukola Saraki has officially announced Engr. Bolakale Kawu as the consensus governorship candidate of the People's Democratic Party in Kwara State ahead of the forthcoming gubernatorial election.

Saraki made the declaration through a statement shared on his page following what he described as extensive consultations with stakeholders of the Kwara PDP and leading gubernatorial aspirants within the party.

According to the statement, the decision to adopt Engr. Bolakale Kawu as consensus candidate was reached in the collective interest of the party and Kwara State, with a view to strengthening unity and positioning the PDP for victory in the next governorship election.

The former Senate President also appreciated other aspirants who agreed to step down in support of the consensus arrangement, describing their action as a demonstration of sacrifice, loyalty, and commitment to the progress of the party.

“It is this spirit of unity and selflessness that will carry us to victory,” Saraki stated.

He further wished party members, delegates, and supporters a peaceful, successful, and orderly outing at the gubernatorial primaries scheduled to hold tomorrow.

The development is expected to shape the political landscape within the Kwara PDP as preparations intensify ahead of the governorship election.
