FRIENDS ON FRIDAY
Achenyo Idachaba Obaro founded Mitimeth as a direct result of her consulting chain outfit that worked to mitigate the negative results of climate change through waste recovery.
Mitimeth creates artisan products from natural fibers that are otherwise considered waste matter. Based in Ibadan, all mitimeth products are locally made with a global appeal. They Upcycle aquatic plants like water hyacinth and typha grass or agricultural waste such as maize husks and banana bark into everything from furniture to stationery and even home accessories.
Mitimeth also runs training programs that prepare local community members on ways to find alternative income and generate opportunities by using the resources around them. This brand is a tangible expression of the need to clean up our environment while at the same time create sustainable livelihoods.
