Today, jazz didn’t just lose a musician…
the saxophone lost one of its greatest voices.

Sonny Rollins was more than a legend — he was a force of nature. A man who could turn one note into a testimony, one solo into a lifetime conversation. As a saxophonist, I didn’t just listen to Sonny… I studied him, chased him, argued with myself because of him, and grew because of him.

Just a fortnight ago, I shared a cover of Oleo by this same legend… little did I know it would feel like a farewell note.

The bridge is quieter tonight.
But the echoes of his horn will outlive all of us.

Rest well, Saxophone Colossus. 🎷🕊️
