Lenten Reflection: Day 42.

Reflection:
"Surely He has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows." (Isaiah 53:4)

On this holy day, as we stand beneath the shadow of the Cross, we remember that Jesus did not suffer for His own sake. He suffered for ours. Every lash, every wound, every moment of agony was endured out of love for us. He bore not only the weight of sin, but also the deep sorrows of the human heart.

Isaiah reminds us that the suffering servant took upon Himself our burdens. When we feel overwhelmed by grief, pain, or loneliness, we must remember, we are not alone. Christ has already carried it with us, and for us.

Lent is not only a time of repentance, but a time of trust, a time to hand over our deepest sorrows to the One who understands them fully. The Cross is not only a place of suffering; it is the place of deepest compassion.

St. Bernard of Clairvaux said, “The wounds of Jesus are my merit, my salvation, my life.”

Prayer:
Lord Jesus, You carried my grief and bore my sorrow. Help me to rest in the knowledge of Your compassionate love. When I am broken, remind me that You have walked this path before me. Draw me close to Your heart, and help me find peace in Your sacrifice. Amen.

May the Lord find you trustworthy and grant you favour in all responsibilities placed in your care. May your character shine brighter than your appearance, and may integrity guide your every step through Christ our Lord. Amen.
