I saw this on X today and it really got me thinking…
Creating a “Best Teacher Award” sounds like a great idea because honestly, teachers sacrifice a lot.
But I keep asking myself…

how do you really measure a “best” teacher?
Is it the one who completes the syllabus?
Or the one who notices when a child is overwhelmed and chooses to pause?
I recently worked with a child who suddenly shut down during a session and complained of a headache.

At that moment, it wasn’t about teaching anymore it was about understanding.
That’s what many teachers do every single day… quietly, without recognition.
So yes, awards are great.
But is once a year enough?
Or do teachers need more support, better systems, and real appreciation every day?
What do you think?
