World Breastfeeding Week Activities Recap
Day 4 – 7th August 2025


We wrapped up World Breastfeeding Week 2025 with an empowering session at the Antenatal Clinic, State Specialist Hospital Gombe. 🌸🤰


Over 100 pregnant women learned about:
💡 Early initiation of breastfeeding
💡 Exclusive breastfeeding for the first 6 months
💡 Overcoming challenges like delayed milk letdown

We shared love and gifts 🎁 — and left inspired by the gratitude and excitement of these future mothers. 💖

Day 3 – 6th August 2025

Our activities for day 3 was all about advocacy and clinical support. 🎙️🏥


📻 On Amana FM, we discussed breastfeeding support systems, lactation challenges, and proper breastfeeding techniques.

🏥 At Federal Teaching Hospital Gombe, our seminar presentation highlighted ways to improve clinical breastfeeding support in line with national and global policies.🌟

World Breastfeeding Week Activities Recap
Day 2 – 4th August 2025

Our visit to Unity Bank Gombe Branch was nothing short of inspiring! 🏦💜

• We engaged with the bank's management on the need to implement policies that support nursing staff.


We applauded their breastfeeding-friendly policies:
✅ 60 days paid maternity leave
✅ A lactation room and crèche
✅ One hour off daily for breastfeeding mothers


• We also held an interactive session with the staff, particularly male employees, encouraging them to:
o Support their breastfeeding wives,
o Prioritize breastfeeding in their children's lives,
o Understand the shared role of fathers in successful breastfeeding


We also encouraged continuous improvement and reminded fathers that their role in breastfeeding success is priceless. 💪👨‍👩‍👧

We kicked off World Breastfeeding Week 2025 in Gombe State with impactful school sensitization visits! 🎓💙


From Wise Foundation Schools to Megalos International School, we engaged school management, fathers, and community leaders on creating supportive environments for breastfeeding mothers.


Together, we can ensure that workplaces and communities stand by nursing mothers every step of the way. 🌍🤱
