Sen. Abiola Ajimobi dies at 70

The immediate past Governor of Oyo State, Senator Isiaq Abiola Ajimobi, has died at the age of age 70. Ajimobi was said to have passed on after battling coronavirus-related symptoms for a month.

According to PUNCH Newspaper, he was hospitalised at First Cardiologist and Cardiovascular Consultant hospital in Lagos on June 2nd.

He was said to have tested positive to the Covid 19 virus and opted for private treatment before the condition deteriorated and he had to seek further medical attention.

The former governor was said to have tested negative afterwards but the illness had caused his health to deteriorate as he was confirmed to have been battling an underlying illness.

His family is yet to make any statement on the matter.
