NIGERIA POLICE FORCE FACILITATES RETURN OF INDIVIDUAL TO TURKEY TO COMPLETE LEGAL PROCESS

The Nigeria Police Force, through the INTERPOL National Central Bureau (NCB) in Abuja, has assisted in the safe return of a 61-year-old Turkish citizen, Acar Huseyin, to the Republic of Turkey to continue an outstanding legal matter.

Mr. Huseyin, whose case had earlier been concluded by the Istanbul Anadolu High Criminal Court, travelled out of Turkey before completing the required legal procedures. He later made his way through parts of the Middle East and arrived in Nigeria.

In July 2025, INTERPOL NCB Ankara issued a formal request to member countries for assistance in locating him. Acting on this request, INTERPOL NCB Abuja carried out intelligence-guided operations that led to locating and taking him into custody in Abuja.

After all documentation and international protocols were completed, the individual was safely returned to Istanbul to proceed with the remaining legal processes.

The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, Ph.D., NPM, praised the INTERPOL unit for its professionalism. He reiterated that Nigeria remains committed to international cooperation, strengthening global partnerships, and supporting efforts to address cross-border offences.

Nollywood Actor and Creator Odira Nwobu Reportedly Dies in South Africa

Popular Nigerian actor and content creator Odira Nwobu, also known for his comedic persona “Joseph The Dreamer,” has reportedly passed away while on a trip to South Africa. The news broke on November 24, 2025, when blogger Awuzie Frankline shared a video on Facebook showing Nwobu unresponsive, and announced his death.

According to reports, Nwobu died just hours after spending time at a club over the weekend. While an exact cause has not been officially confirmed, some sources suggest high blood pressure may have played a role.

This tragic news comes only months after Nwobu survived a severe car crash in June 2025. He later told media about the horrifying incident, describing how he was stuck in the wreckage and suffered spinal compression before being rescued.

As of now, no formal statement from his family has confirmed the details of his passing, and tributes are pouring in from fans, fellow creators, and the Nollywood community
