Very soon in Anambra, burial ceremonies will become strictly Saturday affairs. One day, people will attend a “Burial Thanksgiving Wedding Mass” and still be confused about the dress code. 😂

The MC will announce: “Please, the family of the deceased should move to the left for condolence… while the bridal train should move to the right for couple dance.” 😄

Choir will be switching from: 🎶 “Nearer My God to Thee…” to 🎶 “Joy joy joy in my heart…”

One canopy, two events: Mourners in black. Bridesmaids in champagne gold. Everyone sharing the same jollof rice. 😂

At some point, the Priest may even say: “We are here to commit one soul to God… and commit another soul to marriage.” 😅

Anambra people and weekend bookings no longer have mercy on calendars again!🤣

Prayer for Good Shepherd Sunday
Heavenly Father,

Thank You for the gift of this Good Shepherd Sunday, a day that reminds us of Your unfailing love and guidance through Your Son, Jesus Christ—the true Shepherd of our souls.

Lord Jesus, You are the gate through which we find life, safety, and peace. You call us by name and lead us beside still waters. Today, we choose to listen to Your voice above every noise of confusion, fear, and distraction. Help us not to follow the voice of strangers, but to remain rooted in Your truth and direction.

Father, just as Your Word in Acts of the Apostles calls us to repentance and renewal, give us hearts that are humble and responsive. Cleanse us from every wrongdoing and draw us back into right standing with You. Let our lives reflect true conversion—visible in our words, our choices, and our love for others.

Lord, in moments when we suffer unjustly, teach us patience and endurance, as written in First Epistle of Peter. Help us to follow in Your footsteps—responding to pain with grace, and to hatred with love. Heal every wound within us, for by Your stripes, we are restored.

Good Shepherd, we surrender our paths to You today. Lead us away from danger, from spiritual blindness, and from every form of destruction. Guide our families, our work, and our decisions. May we not lack any good thing under Your care.
Let Your voice be clear in our hearts. Let Your presence be evident in our lives. And let Your goodness and mercy follow us all the days of our lives.

We declare today that we are Your sheep—we hear You, we know You, and we follow You.
