Every day, Amara worked from morning till night. She washed clothes, scrubbed floors, fetched water, and cooked for the whole family. But no matter how hard she tried, Aunty Ngozi always found a reason to shout at her.

Sometimes, Aunty beat her with a stick, saying she was “lazy.” Other times, she left her hungry while her cousins ate meat and soft bread.

Her cousins mocked her too. They called her “the maid” and refused to play with her. When she carried heavy buckets of water, they laughed instead of helping.

At night, Amara slept on the cold floor, using her small wrapper as a pillow. She could hear her cousins laughing in their soft bed, and she cried quietly so no one would hear.

She wanted to run away, but she had nowhere to go. She was just a young girl, trapped in her own family’s house.

Still, deep in her heart, she whispered to herself:
“One day, this suffering will end. One day, I will rise.”

moral lesson, only but one day, that your suffering will be over in JESUS NAME AMEN.
