LDDS COUNSELLOR’S CORNER!
CASE 24
Folasade had been seriously praying to know the right choice for her between Joshua and Gideon as both of them had already proposed to her before she came back from Jos. This led her to be somehow confused as to who she will choose as her future husband. This made her to confide in Bisi, her best friend in the Corpers fellowship.
Bisi: “To me, I will go for Gideon”
Folasade: “But why?”
Bisi: “He is the better of the two. He is richer, more handsome, and even more presentable compare to the other one”
Folasade: “Though Gideon studied a more lucrative course and he’s financially buoyant than Joshua, but it seems to me that Joshua is more spiritual and heavenly minded, he seems to have more interest in the things of God than Gideon”
Bisi: “It doesn’t matter my dear Sister, since both of them are born again. Marriage is not all about spirituality and besides money answereth all things. Since both are qualified spiritually, financial status is a factor that must be seriously considered before you give any of the two your answer. To me, I will recommend Gideon because he’s more financially stable than Joshua”
What can you say about this situation and do you have any advice for Sade?

WISE WORDS FOR MARRIED WOMEN.....
12 Points For Wives To Note
=============== =======
1. The wife that wins all arguments with her husband is not wise. The home is not a law court.
2. The wife that uses s*x as a weapon in the home placing embargo, going to bed in jeans shorts and trousers lacks wisdom.
3. The wife that uses the modern trends and laws of "women's rights" to insult or ridicule her husband is not virtuous at all.
4. A woman that makes her home devoid of peace through bickering, nagging and quarrels needs help. A man should be eager to run away from office to be at home, for that should be the safest and coziest place on earth for him.
5. Modern-day equality in marriage does not mean competition. It simply means partnership. Taking advantage of such equality to turn around and become the de facto head of the home and oppress the man is tantamount to playing with fire. If you destroy your home, soon you will be the boss of an empty
home.
6. A wise wife makes the man feel so good that he assumes that he is the head. Once he gets that feeling, the woman gently wields her power and the head actually turns to wherever the neck wants without a protest.
7. A wife that does not pull herself away from friends' influence and advice or even from the control of her mother and father will have herself to blame.
8. When a man is looking for a wife, he bypasses women of different shapes and sizes to choose a wife. But soon after childbirth, many women hide under the excuse of childbirth to let go of themselves.
Many stop bothering about their looks, shape, dressing, etc. Within 5 years of marriage, people start wondering if the wife is the man's aunt, even though she is 7 years younger. Her defence is that if he truly loves her, he should love her the way she is. But when looking for a wife, he saw people like the present YOU and ignored them and settled for the former YOU. Today, you go to bed smelling of onions and ogiri. You go to bed wearing grandmothers' clothes. Why are you playing with your marriage? Love is not about looks - we know.
9. If every night you are tired, sleepy, sore, down with headache or fever, "not in the mood," you are a
joker, a serious comedian!
10. If your children suddenly become more important to you than your husband, you are still far from being an ideal wife.
11. If you assume that as the woman, only you need to be pampered and fussed over while the man is a stone that has no emotions, then you erred greatly.
12. A woman that has the mind of a wife does not excite her husband. Wives are usually complacent and presumptuous. A wife must strive to have the mind of being her husband best friend. A good wife is always nicer, sweeter, more loving and always thinking of ways to wow her sweetheart; a good wife does not try to win all arguments, does not call the husband a "useless man", is not careless about her looks or dressing, always smiles and laughs with the man, sends the man sweet messages and calls, etc. Are you your husband's best friend in word and indeed? Now That you have read this, please SHARE to educate others. They need to read it too.

HEROES DIARY
Name: Charles Spurgeon
Date of Birth: June 19, 1834
Date of Death: January 31, 1892
Years spent: 57 years, 226 days
Country of Birth: England
Charles Haddon (C.H.) Spurgeon was a British Baptist preacher. Spurgeon remains highly influential among Christians of different denominations, among whom he is known as the "Prince of all Preachers". Although Spurgeon never attended theological school, by the age of twenty-one he was the most popular preacher in London.
Early life
Born in Kelvedon, Ess*x, Spurgeon's conversion to Christianity came on 6 January 1850, at age 16. On his way to a scheduled appointment, a snow storm forced him to cut short his intended journey and to turn into a Primitive Methodist chapel in Colchester where "God opened his heart to the salvation message." The text that moved him was Isaiah 45:22 – "Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth, for I am God, and there is none else." Later that year on 4 April 1850, he was admitted to the church at Newmarket.
His baptism followed on 3 May in the river Lark, at Isleham. Later that same year he moved to Cambridge, where he later became a Sunday school teacher. He preached his first sermon in the winter of 1850–51 in a cottage at Teversham while filling in for a friend. From the beginning of his ministry his style and ability were considered to be far above average.
Many times it has been said that this was the greatest preacher this side of the Apostle Paul. He began preaching at the age of 16. At 25 he built London’s famous Metropolitan Tabernacle, seating around 5,000. It was never large enough. Even when traveling he preached to 10,000 eager listeners a week. Crowds thronged to hear him as they came to hear John the Baptist by the River Jordan. The fire of God was on him as on the Prophet Elijah facing assembled Israel at Mount Carmel.
Royalty sat in his Tabernacle, as did washerwomen. Mr. Gladstone had him to dinner; and cabbies refused his fare, considering it an honor to drive for this “Prince of Preachers. To a housewife kneading bread, he would say, “Have you ever tried the Bread of life?” Many a carpenter was asked, “Have you ever tried to build a house on sand?”
He preached in all the principal cities of England, Scotland and Ireland. And although invited to the United States on several occasions, he was never able to visit this country.
In April 1854, after preaching three months on probation and just four years after his conversion, Spurgeon, then only 20, was called to the pastorate of London's famed New Park Street Chapel, Southwark. Within a few months of Spurgeon's arrival at Park Street, his ability as a preacher made him famous. The following year the first of his sermons in the "New Park Street Pulpit" was published. Spurgeon's sermons were published in printed form every week and had a high circulation. By the time of his death in 1892, he had preached nearly 3,600 sermons and published 49 volumes of commentaries, sayings, anecdotes, illustrations and devotions.
On 8 January 1856, Spurgeon married Susannah, daughter of Robert Thompson of Falcon Square, London, by whom he had twin sons, Charles and Thomas born on 20 September 1856.
On 5 June 1862, Spurgeon challenged the Church of England when he preached against baptismal regeneration. However, Spurgeon taught across denominational lines as well. It was during this period at the new Tabernacle that Spurgeon found a friend in James Hudson Taylor, the founder of the inter-denominational China Inland Mission. Spurgeon supported the work of the mission financially and directed many missionary candidates to apply for service with Taylor. He also aided in the work of cross-cultural evangelism by promoting "The Wordless Book", a teaching tool that he described in a message given on 11 January 1866, regarding Psalm 51:7: "Wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow." The book has been and is still used to teach illiterate people and people of other cultures and languages – young and old – around the globe about the Gospel message
Following the example of George Müller, Spurgeon founded the Stockwell Orphanage, which opened for boys in 1867 and for girls in 1879, and which continued in London until it was bombed in the Second World War. The orphanage became Spurgeon's Child Care which still exists today. On the death of missionary David Livingstone in 1873, a discolored and much-used copy of one of Spurgeon's printed sermons, "Accidents, Not Punishments, was found among his few possessions much later, along with the handwritten comment at the top of the first page: "Very good, D.L." He had carried it with him throughout his travels in Africa. It was returned to Spurgeon and treasured by him.
Spurgeon's wife was often too ill to leave home to hear him preach. Spurgeon also suffered ill health toward the end of his life, afflicted by a combination of rheumatism, gout and Bright's disease. He often recuperated at Menton, near Nice, France, where he eventually died on 31 January 1892. Spurgeon was survived by his wife and sons. His remains were buried at West Norwood Cemetery in London, where the tomb is still visited by admirers. His son Tom became the Pastor of the Metropolitan Tabernacle after his father died.
