When I stood to give my welcome remarks at the Nurturing Nest Conference 2025, I wasn’t just speaking as a host. I was speaking as someone who had once been in the shoes of many of the children seated before me.

I shared a glimpse of my own childhood: the battles with trauma, the weight of low self-esteem, and the quiet moments when I felt unseen. But I also shared how I grew through it; slowly, with courage, with support, and with faith, into the woman I am today.

Why did I share this? Because every child in that room deserves to know that their story doesn’t end with struggle. They can rise. They can heal. They can dream, discover, and become.

My heart is full knowing that these seeds were planted in young hearts that day.
