THE DEMISE OF ONE OF THE ISLAMIC GREATEST MATHEMATICIAN, ASTRONOMY, HISTORIAN, PHILOSOPHER & POET UMAR KHAYYAM. who was a Persian mathematician, astronomer, historian, philosopher, and poet. He was born in Nishapur, the initial capital of the Seljuk Empire.

As a scholar, he lived under the Seljuk dynasty's authority around the period of the First Crusade.

As a mathematician, he is most notable for his work on the classification and solution of cubic equations.

As an astronomer, he designed the Jalali calendar, a solar calendar with an exact 33-year intercalation cycle that provided the basis for the Persian calendar that is still in use after nearly a millennium.

Khayyam entered the service of Sultan Malik-Shah in 1074โ€“5 when the Grand Vizier Nizam al-Mulk invited him.

He was then appointed to establish an observatory at Isfahan and lead a group of scientists in carrying out precise astronomical observations to update the Persian calendar.

After the death of Malik-Shah and his vizier, Khayyam was then invited by the new Sultan Sanjar (Son of Malik Shah) to Merv, to work as a court astrologer.

He is also depicted in the Turkish TV series titled "UyaniลŸ: Bรผyรผk Selรงuklu (The Great Seljuks).

Muslims were the masters of architecture, science and literature when they raised their religion and took their Prophet as a role model for them, but when they took the West as role model , they are classified today as a third world.

History is pivotal in understanding why the Hฬฃijฤz changed so drastically, we must understand how Wahhaฬ„bism spread in the Hฬฃijฤz and Najd (modern day Saudi Arabia) during and after the time of Muhฬฃammad ibn โ€˜Abd al-Wahhaฬ„b an-Najdiฬ„, how they martyred the Hฬฃanbaliฬ„ scholars and adopted the Hฬฃanbaliฬ„ name for a following.

The founder of the madhhab is Imaฬ„m Ahl al-Sunnah waโ€™l Jamaฬ„โ€™ah Abuฬ„ โ€˜Abdullaฬ„h Ahฬฃmad ibn Muhฬฃammad ibn Hฬฃanbal Ash-Shaybฤniฬ„, born in 164 after Hijri. Imaฬ„m Ahฬฃmad was from the age of the First Three Generations, he was from amongst the greatest scholars the Ummah has ever witnessed. He was Mujtahid Mutlaq, who took his usuฬ„l from the Tฤbiโ€™iฬ„n who in turn took it from the Companions of Al-Basrah.

The Imaฬ„m was also a leading Muhฬฃaddith of his time who had memorised 1 million ahฬฃaฬ„diฬ„th. Imaฬ„m Ahฬฃmad and his students were Mujtahid scholars and they were upon the creed of the First Three Generations, also called the creed Ahl al-Sunnati waโ€™l Jamaฬ„โ€™ah. Imaฬ„m Ahฬฃmad along the three other Imaฬ„ms are accepted by consensus as righteous Sunniฬ„ Imaฬ„ms upon whom we make taqliฬ„d. From the time of Imaฬ„m Ahฬฃmad until today the madhhab is in its pristine state having its authoritative scholars. The madhhab is still being adopted in countries such as Shaฬ„m, โ€˜Iraฬ„q, Egypt and the Gulf countries.

The Hฬฃanbaliฬ„ madhhab in Hฬฃijฤz took its main blow during the crusades of Muhฬฃammad ibn โ€˜Abd al-Wahhaฬ„b an-Najdiฬ„, who was a Khฤrijiฬ„ and a false prophet that emerged to "cleanse" the world of muslim apostates. This Khฤrijiฬ„ cult, later called the Muwahhiduฬ„n movement, brutally murdered the believers, killed the scholars and decimated the Hฬฃanbaliฬ„ madhhab to a great degree in Hฬฃijฤz and Najd. Ibn โ€˜Abd al-Wahhaฬ„b an-Najdiฬ„ (1703-1792) was someone who grew up in a Hฬฃanbaliฬ„ family, his father and elder brother being Qaฬ„diฬ„s (Judges) in the madhhab. But he was not a promising student, as in his later years he developed his own erroneous ideas and was influenced by false teachings. The scholars had already warned against him before his crusades.

Later on he spent many years in ad-Dirโ€™iyyah, during this time he gained alliances and then began his 51 years long crusade against the Muslims. He brutally massacred thousands of people, he along his descendants committed to this ideology and murder. However, during his lifetime he was declared as an apostate and false prophet by the scholars of his time. Among them being his elder brother and the Hฬฃanbaliฬ„ authority of the time, Imฤm Sulaymฤn ibn โ€˜Abd al-Wahhฤb, may Allฤh have mercy on him, who was martyred by the Wahhฤbiฬ„ cult.

Once the Wahhฤbiฬ„s grew in number, along the progeny of Ibn โ€˜Abd al-Wahhฤb, they killed a great amount people beyond belief, committing horrible murders by emptying cities and other atrocities like destroying graves, schools and relics. Besides killing the believers, they decimated the graves of the Prophets, his Companions and their Followers. Destroyed their houses, wells and even the trees that were planted by the Prophet Muhฬฃammad ๏ทบ and his Companions. After the fall of the Ottoman Khilฤfah, they destroyed more relics, artefacts, graves and much more, all under the pretext of "protecting people against shirk", which was an absurd claim refuted by the scholars. The reality was having a sick and false theology.

After the death of Ibn โ€˜Abd al-Wahhฤb, his sons continued the crusades against Islฤm. The Ottomans were the ones who declared war upon the Wahhฤbiฬ„s, who were the Khawฤrij of that age. Between the years 1811-1818 the Ottoman army at the time, which was led by Muhฬฃammad โ€˜Aliฬ„ Pฤshฤ, aided the Muslims against them. Do you know what the Ottomans did to the Wahhฤbiฬ„ cult? They waged a mighty war and utterly decimated the wicked cult. Muhฬฃammad โ€˜Aliฬ„ Pฤshฤ, may Allฤh have mercy on him, destroyed ad-Dirโ€™iyyah completely and then laid salt on the area which he then set on fire and turned over the earth. Allฤhu Akbar!

Because of the Ottomans the Wahhฤbiฬ„s were pushed back and removed from power. But unfortunately after the fall of the Ottoman Khilฤfah, the Wahhฤbiฬ„s rose to power again due to their alliance with the Sa'uฬ„d family and the British Empire. They then spread their Wahhฤbiฬ„ religion in Hฬฃijฤz and changed the name to 'Saudi Arabia', and finally proclaimed the Wahhฤbiฬ„ State (Ad-Dawlat ul-Wahhฤbiyyah), and the rest is history.

Due to this, many people in this age in the Arabian peninsula are Wahhฤbiฬ„s. We do not say that every single individual or every scholar is a Wahhฤbiฬ„ in, far from it. But the government is Wahhฤbiฬ„ and has certainly infected some people.

The Wahhฤbiฬ„s claimed to be "Athariฬ„" in creed, which is synonymous with the Hฬฃanbaliฬ„ creed, which is the creed of the First Three Generations. But their beliefs were false and not in line with creed of the Hฬฃanbaliฬ„s. They were the Khawฤrij of that age and shared many beliefs with the Muโ€™tazilah and Shiฬ„โ€™ah. The Wahhฤbiฬ„ creed is primarily based upon the teachings of Muhammad Amฤซr as-Sanโ€™ฤnฤซ, Ibn โ€˜Abd al-Wahhฤb an-Najdiฬ„, along the isolated opinions of Ibn Taymiyyah. Some of the references they also use are, Ash-Shawkฤniฬ„ the Wahhฤbiฬ„ Zaidiฬ„ Muโ€™tazilite and others such as Muhammad โ€˜Abduh, Jamฤl ud-Diฬ„n al-Afghฤniฬ„ and Sayyid Qutb. And those of the latter period such as โ€˜Abd al-โ€˜Aziฬ„z ibn Bฤz, al-Albฤniฬ„, Ibn al-โ€˜Uthaymiฬ„n, al-Fawzฤn, al-Madkhaliฬ„ and others like them. Their fathers (Amฤซr as-Sanโ€™ฤnฤซ and Ibn โ€˜Abd al-Wahhฤb) revolted against the Ummah and went against the consensus of Ahl al-Sunnah. They left and rejected the classical teachings of the Hฬฃanbaliฬ„ creed and fiqh.

One who is upon the above mentioned books will protect himself from the lies of the Wahhaฬ„biฬ„s/Pseudo-Salafiฬ„s. They were fought and declared as disbelievers by Ahl al-Sunnah.
