“Growing up, I believed early marriage was the greatest barrier to a girl’s education — it was the story I knew. But volunteering on the MAP Project opened my eyes to a silent struggle I never imagined: menstrual hygiene. Learning that girls miss school monthly, not for lack of dreams, but lack of basic sanitary resources, was heartbreaking. No child should have to choose between her education and her biology — closing that gap for me is progress.”
