🇳🇬⚠️ HE WAS PART OF NIGERIA’S GREATEST TEAM… BUT MANY HAVE FORGOTTEN HIM 💔

While fans celebrate the stars of 1994, one quiet warrior helped make that success possible — yet his story is rarely told today.

was not the loudest name… but he was one of the most important.

🧾 HIS JOURNEY IN FOOTBALL

Oliha’s career took him across Africa and Europe, proving his quality wherever he played:

🇳🇬 Bendel Insurance (1985–1987)
🇳🇬 Iwuanyanwu Nationale (now Heartland FC) (1988–1991)
Won multiple Nigerian league titles (1988, 1989, 1990)
Won the FA Cup (1988)

🇨🇮 Africa Sports d’Abidjan (1992–1994)
Won the African Cup Winners’ Cup (1992)
Won the Ivorian Cup (1993)

🇮🇱 Maccabi Ironi Ashdod (1994–1995)

🇹🇷 Antalyaspor (1995–1996)

His promising career was sadly cut short at just 27 years old due to a serious knee injury.

🇳🇬 NATIONAL TEAM IMPACT

Oliha proudly wore the green and white of Nigeria:

Member of the historic winning squad 🏆
Part of Nigeria’s first-ever FIFA World Cup team (USA 1994) 🌍
Earned over 30 caps for the Super Eagles

He may not always have been in the spotlight, but he was the kind of player every great team needs — strong, tactical, and committed.

🌟 HIS LEGACY

Teammates and coaches remember him as:
A disciplined midfield engine
A team-first player
A quiet achiever who gave everything on the pitch

After football, he continued to give back by working with youth players and helping develop the next generation.

🕊️ HIS FINAL MOMENTS

On June 30, 2013, tragedy struck.

Oliha reportedly fell ill with malaria, a common illness that can become dangerous if complications arise.

He suddenly collapsed at his home in Ilorin, Kwara State
He was rushed to hospital
Sadly, he was confirmed dead on arrival

He passed away at just 44 years old — a painful loss to Nigerian football.

💔 WHY HIS STORY MATTERS TODAY

In today’s game, we celebrate goals and fame… but players like Oliha remind us that:

Every great team is built on sacrifice
Some heroes work quietly behind the scenes
Legacy is not only about fame — it’s about impact

🙏 RESPECT A TRUE EAGLE

may be gone, but his contribution to Nigerian football will never be forgotten.

🕊️ Rest in peace, midfield warrior.
