---
1. What is Medplus Global Assist?
Medplus Global Assist is a medical coordination and resource hub that supports patients, families, hospitals, insurers, and healthcare partners in arranging cross-border medical transportation and critical care transfers between Singapore and Malaysia.
We do not operate as a traditional ambulance fleet provider. Instead, we work closely with qualified hospitals, ambulance operators, and medical teams to coordinate safe, medically appropriate patient transport.
---
2. Does Medplus Global Assist own ambulances?
At this time, Medplus Global Assist does not operate its own ambulance fleet.
Our role is to coordinate and facilitate the transfer process by connecting patients and healthcare providers with licensed and qualified ambulance operators, medical es**rt teams, and receiving hospitals.
This allows us to focus on ensuring the right resources, approvals, and medical coordination are in place for each case.
---
3. What does Medplus Global Assist actually do?
We act as the central coordination point for complex medical transportation.
Our services may include:
* Assessing whether a patient is medically fit for transfer
* Coordinating between hospitals in Singapore and Malaysia
* Liaising with ambulance providers and critical care transport teams
* Organising cross-border documentation and approvals
* Arranging doctor, nurse, or paramedic es**rts when needed
* Supporting families throughout the transport process
* Facilitating hospital admission arrangements where possible
Our goal is to simplify what can often be a stressful and complicated process.
---

* ICU or ventilated patient transport
* Medical repatriation to home country
* Oncology or rehabilitation transfers
* Bedbound or stretcher patient transport
* Specialist medical es**rt services

5. Can you transfer ICU or ventilated patients?

We assist in arranging critical care transport for patients requiring advanced medical support, including ventilators, infusion pumps, monitoring equipment, and critical care es**rts.
Each case is medically assessed to ensure the transfer can be conducted safely.
---
6. Are you an ambulance company?
Medplus Global Assist is not a direct ambulance operator.
We function as a medical coordination partner and resource hub.
We collaborate with licensed ambulance providers, hospitals, and healthcare professionals to arrange safe and appropriate patient transfers.
---
7. How does the transfer process work?
A typical case may involve:
1. Initial inquiry and case review
2. Medical information assessment
3. Coordination with referring and receiving hospitals
4. Ambulance and medical team arrangement
5. Documentation and border coordination
6. Patient transport and handover
Every transfer is different depending on patient condition and hospital requirements.
---
8. Can you help if a patient is in Singapore and needs to return to Malaysia?
Yes.
We frequently assist families and healthcare providers in arranging repatriation from Singapore back to Malaysia.
This may involve:
* Hospital acceptance coordination
* Ground ambulance arrangements on both sides of the border
* Medical es**rt requirements
* Transfer timing and logistics planning
---
9. Can you help if a Malaysian patient needs treatment in Singapore?
Yes.
We assist in arranging transportation and coordination for patients who require further treatment, specialist care, or second opinions in Singapore.
This includes helping connect with appropriate transport and hospital coordination pathways.
---
10. Do you work directly with hospitals?
Yes.
We regularly coordinate with hospitals, case managers, discharge planners, doctors, and nursing teams to ensure smoother patient transfers.
Cross-border medical transport often requires communication between multiple stakeholders, and we help bridge that coordination.
---
11. Do you provide emergency ambulance response?
No.
For immediate emergencies, patients should contact their local emergency services directly.
Medplus Global Assist supports planned or coordinated medical transfers rather than emergency first-response ambulance dispatch.
---
12. How quickly can a transfer be arranged?
Timeframes vary depending on:
* Patient medical condition
* Hospital acceptance
* Medical documentation availability
* Border clearance requirements
* Ambulance availability
Some urgent transfers may be coordinated within hours, while more complex cases may require additional planning.
---
13. Is cross-border ambulance transport expensive?
Costs vary depending on:
* Distance and travel route
* Medical complexity
* Type of ambulance required
* Medical equipment needed
* Es**rt team requirements
* Hospital coordination needs
We aim to provide transparent guidance based on the needs of each case.
---
14. What information do you need to assess a case?
To better understand the transfer requirements, we may ask for:
* Patient location
* Current medical condition
* Hospital name
* Doctorβs notes or discharge summary
* Mobility status
* Medical equipment requirements
* Intended destination hospital
The more medical information available, the faster coordination can begin.
---
15. Do you only work with private hospitals?
No.
We may coordinate with both public and private healthcare facilities depending on the patient's needs, hospital acceptance, and available resources.
---
16. Why use Medplus Global Assist instead of arranging directly?
Cross-border medical transport often involves multiple moving parts:
* Different ambulance providers
* Hospitals in two countries
* Medical approvals
* Border procedures
* Es**rt team coordination
* Patient stability requirements
Medplus Global Assist acts as a single coordination point to simplify communication and reduce delays.
---
17. Can families contact Medplus Global Assist directly?
Yes.
Families, hospitals, employers, and medical providers may contact us directly for guidance or coordination support.
---
18. Is Medplus Global Assist available for non-critical transport?

βHi Mr Ong, my father had a cardiac arrest in Singapore β can he be transferred back to Malaysia for treatment?β
These are never simple cases.
A cardiac arrest is not just a medical emergency. It is a race against time, involving critical care, specialist coordination, and seamless communication between hospitals across two countries.
Mr T suffered a cardiac arrest while on his way to a GP clinic after experiencing chest pain. His daughter found him unresponsive, without a palpable pulse, and immediately called the Emergency Medical Services from the Singapore Civil Defence Force.
While waiting for the ambulance team to arrive, she began CPR and delivered one shock using a nearby public access defibrillator.
The emergency team continued resuscitation efforts, and Mr T achieved Return of Spontaneous Circulation (ROSC). However, his condition remained extremely critical. He arrested again during transport, once more upon arrival at the Emergency Department, and another time inside the resuscitation bay.
After successful resuscitation, he was transferred from Woodlands Hospital to Khoo Teck Puat Hospital under intensive care management.
Doctors later confirmed an anterior STEMI as the cause of his cardiac arrest. Complications soon followed β including cardiogenic shock and septic shock.
After nearly a week in the ICU in Singapore, the family faced a difficult decision. Due to financial constraints and the wish for him to continue treatment closer to home in Malaysia, they decided on medical repatriation.
From that point, every hour mattered.
We immediately coordinated the transfer process β bridging communication between doctors in Singapore and Malaysia, notifying receiving hospitals, preparing the medical es**rt team, and mobilising the ambulance crew.
This was not simply arranging transport.
Our doctors communicated directly with the ICU and cardiology teams in Singapore while securing referrals and continuity of care with the receiving medical specialists in Malaysia β including Emergency Physicians, Cardiologists, Intensivists, and Internal Medicine teams.
On the day of transfer, we briefed both the family and medical teams across both sides of the border to ensure a smooth handover process.
Our Medical Coordinator was also physically present at the hospital to oversee operations and ensure every detail moved as planned.
Cases like this remind us that cross-border medical repatriation is more than transportation.
It is about bridging healthcare systems, coordinating specialists, ensuring continuity of care, and helping families navigate one of the most difficult moments of their lives.
We remain committed to doing more than moving patients β we ensure the right conversations, referrals, protocols, and coordination happen before the journey even begins.
Should you require ambulance transfer services, medical repatriation, or critical care transport between Singapore and Malaysia, our team is available 24/7 to assist.
